IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 150-140 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.90 g, 12 h), Attic standard. Pausanias, son of Euphemos, magistrate. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, with bow and quiver over her shoulder. Rev. ΠAYΣANIOΣ / EYΦHMOY - MAΓNHTΩN Apollo standing left on maeander pattern, holding filleted laurel branch in his lowered right hand and leaning his left elbow on a tall tripod behind him; all within laurel wreath. Ellis-Evans 99 (O.5/R.PE16). Jones 5/aJ. Attractively toned and of particularly fine style. Minor marks and with a few small flan faults, otherwise, about extremely fine.
